About Rove
Rove McManus (real name is John McManus) was born on the 21st of January 1974 in Perth, Western Australia. Now based in Melbourne he is an award winning TV and (former) Radio show host. He started off as a comedian in his early career and finally landed a part as the host, writer and producer of the Logie award winning show 'Rove Live'. He can quite rightly be described as the most popular face on Australian TV since he is a multiple gold Logie winner as well as being named the most powerful person on Australian TV. Rove can also now be seen in New Zealand and there are also rumours the show will one day reach the UK.
Rove can be found on a variety of media around the globe. Discounting his obvious sucess with Rove Live in Australia he also featured as a voice over in Finding Nemo (the crab that gets held up for the seagulls), Solo ads, DVD special features for movies such as Ali and Swordfish where he interviews stars as well as 'The Wannabes', 'The Gap' and an episode of 'Hueys Cooking Adventures'. He owns his own production company (Roving Enterprises) and is also the executive producer of shows such as 'Before the Game' and 'Skithouse'.
He became happily married in early 2005 to Belinda Emmett, a former star of shows such as Home & Away and All Saints. They both lived in a far from cheap house in Richmond Hill but unfortunately on the 11th of November 2006 Belinda lost her long battle with cancer and died. Our hearts go out to Rove and the family of Belinda now and forever, it was a tragic loss and she will be missed.
Roveys hilarious ideas, gimmicks and jokes make the nation go "What The..?" and laugh at every turn.
